Company Information
Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd operates from our office in Lerwick. The Company owns Burradale Windfarm and has acted as Developer, Constructor, Operator and Client at various stages.
The Company was established in 1992 to investigate the opportunities expected after the Government announced the Scottish Renewables Obligation.
The Company now undertakes selective development of its own wind energy projects and is supporting the concept of large scale wind energy development in Shetland.
Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd is a member of:
- Shetland Renewable Energy Forum
- Scottish Renewables Forum
David Thomson was elected chairman of the SREF in November 2003.
SAL joined Scottish Renewables in January 2004.
Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd has historically received assistance from:
