Burradale Wind Farm
Shetland Aerogenerators owns and operates the Burradale Wind Farm, one of the world’s most productive wind farms.
Burradale’s production figures show just how special and powerful the wind around Shetland is. We believe that wind energy from Shetland holds the potential to make a big contribution on both a local and global scale.
Our wind turbines regularly see the Northern Lights (known locally as the Mirrie Dancers) in the night vision of our CCTV.
ReadShetland Aerogenerators Ltd has combined with SSE Plc and the Shetland Community Benefit Fund Ltd to donate £300,000 to the Shetland MRI Scanner Appeal, taking the money raised over the £1.65 million capital target set at the campaign's outset.

We were initially established to investigate new opportunities in wind power after the Government announced the Scottish Renewables Obligation.
Now we undertake selective development of our own wind energy projects and we support the concept of large scale wind energy advancement in Shetland.
