Promoting professional successes

Lauren joined Shetland Aerogenerators in 2022 as part of a 12-month Graduate Placement Programme supported by Highlands & Islands Enterprise. As a trainee, Lauren gained experience in managing the planning and delivery of onshore wind and storage technology projects at different stages of development from site identification and environmental impact assessment through to planning submission. She is now permanently employed as one of our Project Managers in the Development Team.

Lauren was recently awarded the Personal Improvement Award at this year's Scottish Renewables Young Professionals Green Energy Awards (see the news here). Lauren was one of four young professionals shortlisted for the award and impressed the judges with her attitude, which they described as “going ‘above and beyond’ to develop herself and enhance her contribution to the business”.

Shetland Aerogenerators is committed to the professional development of all of its employees. As part of Lauren’s development plan, she obtained PRINCE2 Project Management status during her graduate placement. She is continuing her professional growth by undertaking work-based learning in the form of the Renewables Academy (RENAC) Certified ‘Renewable Energy Project Developer: Wind Power’ qualification.
